Pigment particles tend to bond to edges within the chosen substrate, and that's why it tends to last longer and resists fading over time.If you are printing an important image or document that have to last for a long time, pigment inks are your best choice.
Dye-based ink is cheaper and water soluble. It has great color vibrancy and color brightness because various optical compounds are added to dye ink to enhance the color.Dye ink may not last as long as pigment ink,but it's much more cheaper and it has a better performance in color saturation and is widely used in sublimation printing and outdoor advertisements.
